CANE INFORMATION

            Sugar cane is  a traditional crop of India and it is under cultivation since time immemorial in the Indo-Gangetic belt. There are numerous mentions of sugarcane in several of our ancient books such as "Atharva Veda", "Rig Veda" etc dataing back to 1000BC TO 3000BC. Foreign travelers to India, about 2000 years ago, have mentioned about sugar cane. Buddhist literature has several mentions of sugar cane and sugar.
